Children with Down-syndrome in Kakheti Region, Georgia. 

Many Families in remote regions are ashamed of having a disabled child, so they sent them off to home shelters, without giving permission for adoption.  

Many disabled children remain in shelters for years, without ever seeing their parents again. 

  • GEORGIA. 2009. Kakheti Region. Children’s Home.  Twins. Children with Down’s syndrome. If a child has a defect usually he or she is being rejected in Georgia and the parents send them to Children’s Home. They usually do not have the consent of their parents and so can't get adopted.
